ACI's Center for Success in High-Need Schools seeks to close the achievement gap between low-income students and their more affluent peers by recruiting, preparing and retaining excellent teachers for high-need schools.

Students and teacher candidates were taught to use personal data notebooks to set goals and track their own achievement. Teacher candidates were able to co-train and collaborate with experienced educators, engage in action research, analyze data, and interact with parents.
